The two research laboratories are equipped with the following machines: Bioelectrical impedance analysis machine, Electrocardiograph, Spirometers, Semiautomatic analyzers, high precision scales, and PCs equipped with dedicated software for operating these machines. The Physiology I discipline holds an optional lecture, Elderly Physiology, addressed to fourth-year students, and tackling present topics regarding physiological aging and precisely identifying possible transition towards disease, thus allowing immediate treatment with life expectancy and quality of life increase.Ī student scientific circle is organized inside our discipline, with the purpose of developing the students’ abilities in using research methodologies in the field of medical sciences. Support for the teaching activities includes: manuals developed by the academic staff of the discipline (lecture notes, guides of practical lessons, multiple choice questions books), materials elaborated and updated by the staff (movies, PowerPoint presentations, software simulations) as well as recent national and international references. The approach of these topics is performed in lectures and practical lessons, based on the current analytical programme.
The curriculum of first year students (Romanian and English module) includes the physiology of the hydro-electrolytic balance, digestive system, endocrine system, basal and energetic metabolisms.
